Our Company Culture

BEI Tactical began as a seed in an entrepreneurs mind.  Founder Scott Chierepko retired from the Navy, worked for a major corporation for four years and decided to go on his own! Starting with personal savings & credit cards and a small 1,300 square foot warehouse BEI grew from an idea to a niche defense contracting company with real estate, multiple business lines, and an incredible staff.  BEI prides itself in not taking the “corporate highway”, instead we pave our own road! Our staff make their own decisions, take chances, think out of the box and are proud to come to work each day. Solutions through relationships is how our company keep’s growing!

US NAVY SEABEE ADVANCED TRAINING

In a time of constrained military resources comes the need to cross-train military members. This is even more important when deploying to austere areas of the world and working by, with, and through host nation civil and military members.

Students begin this 40 hour course of instruction with a full day of classroom academics and quizzes followed by four-days of hands on construction where students construct an 8×8 structure using blueprints, skills learned, and provided tools and materials. The skills obtained will allow military members to construct, maintain, and repair Forward Operating Bases, Fire Bases, and during Civil Affairs assisting host nation communities.

Students begin this 40 hour course of instruction with a full day of classroom academics and quizzes followed by four-days of hands on wiring of a training platform. The goal of this training is to provide the learner with the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities that enable him/her to install a main distribution panel, electrical outlet, and switches (one and three way) in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). The student will create a wire run to each of the aforementioned components, and then apply a drywall finish to the project.

This training is designed to provide the learner with the knowledge and skills associated with basic plumbing principles. Upon completion of the training, the student will demonstrate (hands-on) mastery of basic plumbing core skills. More specifically, the student will be able to install plumbing components including a water heater, sink, toilet, and shower.

This training is designed to provide the learner with knowledge and skills associated with repairing small engines. The training will include basic skills such as safety and the theory of operations for two and four stroke engines. The advanced portion of the course will focus on troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding small engines. Upon completion of the training, and in order to complete the course, the student will demonstrate (hands-on) mastery of basic and advanced small engine repair.

Students will execute vertical, horizontal, and bullnose corner bead drywall installation. Proper application of drywall compound consisting of multiple types of drywall mud to joints and screw indentations and finishing with paint application. Additionally, students will install commercial grade carpeting sections and if time warrants, ceramic tiling. Lastly, students will install wood baseboard and be critiqued on finish applications.

This two-day course is a combination of classroom and hands-on training where students are taught electrical theory, basic residential electrical installation, identification of hazardous electrical conditions, and finally determining cause of electrical failure. Course is taught by a licensed electrician and training is based on the current National Electric Codes. Upon completion of this course students will receive 16 hours of Virginia Department of Fire Programs CEUs.
